かつて、山奥に佇む小さな村で、古くから続く祭りがあった。この祭りは、山の神々に感謝し、豊かな収穫と平和な暮らしを祈るものであり、村人たちは誇りをもってこれを守り続けていた。しかし、その祭りには村人たちによって厳守されるべき因習が存在していた。
山奥の祭りの中でも特に厳かな儀式が、祭りの最中に村の奥深くに広がる水源で行われていた。この水源は神聖視され、普段は誰も立ち入ることを許されていなかった。祭りの際には、村の長老たちが水源に集まり、神聖な儀式を行っていた。
ある年、村に新しい者がやって来た。彼は祭りに興味津々で参加し、山奥の神秘的な雰囲気に引かれていった。祭りの最中、彼は水源の存在を知り、その神聖な場所に強い好奇心を抱いた。祭りが終わると、彼は夜の闇に紛れて水源に忍び込んだ。
水源の中央には神聖な井戸があり、その水は村の人々に神聖な力をもたらすと信じられていた。彼は欲望に駆られ、井戸から水を汲み上げてしまった。しかし、その瞬間、村全体に異変が起こり始めた。悲鳴や祈りの声が山奥に響き渡り、村人たちは異様な現象に怯えた。
祭りの儀式に参加していた長老たちは、水源が汚されたことを察知し、神々の怒りが村に向けられていることを悟った。異変の中、彼らは村人たちに水源の禁忌を告げ、急いで浄化の儀式を行った。しかし、すでに村は神聖な怒りに晒されており、神聖な水が穢れてしまったことにより、村の運命は暗転してしまった。
以後、その村に住む者たちは災厄に見舞われ、祭りは行われなくなった。村は人々の忌み嫌われる場所となり、水源は神秘的な呪いと共に村の闇に取り込まれたと言われている。
Festivals deep in the mountains: forbidden at sacred water sources
Once upon a time, in a small village nestled deep in the mountains, there was a long-standing festival. The villagers proudly kept this festival to thank the mountain gods and pray for a bountiful harvest and peaceful life. However, there were certain customs that had to be strictly observed by the villagers.
One of the most solemn of all festivals deep in the mountains took place during the festival at a water source deep within the village. This water source was considered sacred and usually no one was allowed to enter. During the festival, the village elders would gather at the water source to perform the sacred ritual.
One year, a newcomer arrived in the village. He attended the festival with great interest and was drawn by the mysterious atmosphere deep in the mountains. During the festival, he learned of the existence of a water source and developed a strong curiosity about this sacred place. After the festival was over, he crept into the water source under the cover of night.
In the center of the water source was a sacred well, the water of which was believed to bring divine power to the people of the village. Driven by desire, he drew water from the well. At that moment, however, the entire village began to feel strange. Screams and prayers echoed deep into the mountains, and the villagers were frightened by the strange phenomenon.
The elders who were participating in the festival rituals sensed that the water source had been polluted and realized that the gods’ wrath was directed at the village. In the midst of the anomaly, they told the villagers that the water source was forbidden and hastened to perform a purification ritual. However, the village was already exposed to the divine wrath, and the village’s fate was darkened by the defilement of its sacred water.
From then on, the inhabitants of that village were plagued by calamities and the festival was no longer held. It is said that the village became a place of abhorrence for the people and the water source was taken into the darkness of the village along with a mysterious curse.
